Andros Trophy – Round 2 – Alpe D’Huez

Hey guys! I was back for the Trophée Andros last weekend, this time at Alpe d’Huez. Although our performance was good, we just didn’t quite have the luck to get the result we deserved!

On the first day, I narrowly missed out on the front row due to the heavy snowfall just before my session, which made the track slower. Still, I was able to set the second fastest time in the Super Pole. I had some great battles with the championship leader in the finale and ended up fourth.

On day two, the first qualifying went well and I sat out the second to save my best for the Super Pole, in which I ended up third. The final was disappointing, Bertrand Balas had a slow start, whereas Olivier Pernaut and I had a good one and we went three wide into Turn 1. In this situation visibility is very poor and there was contact, which led to the wishbone of my Audi Sport A1 Quattro Ice breaking on the inside wall causing me to retire.

My target was to be consistent this year and I must be one of only two drivers to have made every Super Pole, which shows that the performance is definitely there. Hopefully we have better luck in Andorra!

I’d like to thank Comtoyou Racing for their help this weekend and everyone for the support!
