Hey guys! Hope you all had a good weekend! It was a mixed one for us in the Italian GT Championship at Autodromo Vallelunga. It was my first time at the track, so in practice and qualifying I focused on getting to grips with it.
Race one was the low point of the weekend, after a shunt on lap 20. The Audi Sport Italia team did a great job to rebuild the car for Sunday’s race, which I started from fifth.
During my stint I battled with the race one-winning Ferrari for places in the top four, before handing over to my team-mate, Vittorio Ghirelli. He did a great job on his home track to give us a second place finish just 2.3 seconds behind the winner.
Big thanks to Audi Sport Italia for their efforts this weekend, the podium would have been impossible without the hard work. Not very long to wait until my next race, as I’ll be heading to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for the finale of the Blancpain GT Series this weekend.[:fr]
Salut à tous, j’espère que vous avez passé un excellent weekend ! De notre côté, nous avons connu un meeting du championnat GT italien riche en émotions du côté de Vallelunga. C’était la première fois que je roulais sur ce circuit, et je me suis attelé à prendre mes marques durant les essais libres et qualificatifs.
La Course 1 fut le point noir du week-end en raison d’un accident au 20ème tour. Notre écurie Audi Sport Italia a fait du super boulot pour reconstruire la voiture à temps pour l’épreuve du dimanche, où je m’élançais P5.
Durant mon relais, je me suis retrouvé à la bagarre dans le Top 4, avec notamment les vainqueurs de la veille, avant de transmettre le témoin à mon coéquipier Vittorio Ghirelli. Il a livré une superbe prestation pour décrocher une très belle deuxième place, à 2.3s seulement de l’équipage de tête.
Un grand merci à l’ensemble de l’écurie Audi Sport Italia pour tous leurs efforts, qui nous ont permis de terminer sur le podium. Ma prochaine course a lieu dès ce week-end avec la finale de la Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, organisée sur le Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. À très vite ![:]
